To mention Helly "himself" in connection with glasses for motorcyclists would be like carrying coals to Newcastle or bringing Harley to Milwaukee - Helly is indeed THE inventor of the "biker goggles." As the descendant of a family business in the optical industry active since 1966 in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany), he was one of the first to consider the specific eyewear needs of motorcyclists and started his own venture in 1992, initially only trading sunglasses.
